Construction company liable in rare mesothelioma cancer lawsuit (May 17, 2012): A New York company has been found liable for a rare form of mesothelioma cancer developed by a former contract employee. The jury ruled that Tishman Liquidating Corp. failed to properly protect David Konstantin, a carpenter who was exposed to asbestos while working on two construction projects from 1974 until 1977.
Massachusetts property owner indicted for asbestos abatement violations (May 9, 2012): A Massachusetts property owner has been indicted for violating the a state’s Clean Air Act and endangering the health of her tenants during improper removal of asbestos. Susan Nissenbaum allegedly paid two tenants to remove asbestos from the side of her property and then stored it in torn plastic bags on the property.
Lawsuit filed against company after broken pipe release asbestos (May 4, 2012): A Missouri man has filed a lawsuit against an energy corporation he claims is responsible for a broken pipe that spewed asbestos across a block in downtown St. Louis. Adrian Fayne filed the asbestos lawsuit against Trigen-St. Louis Energy Corporation, alleging that the company exposed the residents to asbestos and showed indifference to the safety of the surrounding area in its handling of the break.
British woman receives more than $450K in mesothelioma lawsuit (April 28, 2012): The wife of a man who died from mesothelioma cancer has received more than $450,000 from a lawsuit against the company where he worked. David Bean was an engineer with Bristol Water company for decades, where he was routinely exposed to asbestos without being provided with masks or other protection.
